The Marinette Planning Commission* on Wednesday night approved a site plan for a new test facility and associated waste water treatment facility at our Fire Technology Center (FTC). All foam testing at the FTC is done indoors and all wastewater is captured and treated before leaving the premises. The new planned buildings are designed to augment our existing capabilities.
The design activities for the facilities are now complete, and we expect to begin the permitting process with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) soon.
At the Planning Commission meeting, a Tyco subcontractor reportedly said the WDNR had approved the site plan. This was not accurate. We regret this error and any misunderstanding it may have created.
